Beam me aboard Mr. Scott.
Will a 2×4 do?
So why didn't it have one smooth line as you zoomed in? I assume from this that a digital "exposure" is a series of samplings and not what we traditionally think of as an exposure.
If this had been a continuous zoom at slow speed, there would have been one a single smooth line, as was the case with the Warp Speed shot from yesterday. The reason this doesn’t have any light between the rings, is that I used a different technique. For this shot, I still zoomed in, but instead of a slow, continuous zoom, throughout the focal length of the lens. I used a serious of quick, short zooms, stopping at different focal lengths for about a second to allow the light to burn in, on that spot before zooming in a little more.
